The paper focuses on the topic of digitalization in public administration with particular reference to the management and organization of the public employment relationship. In particular, it analyzes how artificial intelligence can be included in macro- and micro-organization processes, as well as in the concrete management and planning of public employment. Inevitably, the reflection then focuses on the consequences that the introduction of artificial intelligence systems may have in terms of employers' powers, workers' rights and freedoms, considering, in addition, what might be the new prerogatives of trade unions in collective bargaining, not to mention the new training challenges that appear to be looming for the entire public administration workforce.
